The Unite! Journey Through The Silicon World project completed!
We proudly announce: the project „Journey Through the Silicon World" has concluded! It was one of the most intense, inspiring chapters in the history of KN Solvro.
It all started with a question: what does the European Chips Act truly mean for us as students? The regulation aims for Europe to produce 20% of the world's chips by 2030, compared to a mere 9% today. These figures are not just politics - it's a challenge for our generation. Dawid and Yurii decided to take it on and applied to the Unite! Seed Fund program, connecting KN Solvro with TU Graz.
And so the journey began.

In May 2025, we traveled to Graz - a city known as the European Silicon Valley. We entered the clean room at ams OSRAM, visited the laboratories of Silicon Austria Labs and TU Graz. We saw firsthand the production of semiconductors from the inside - in suits, behind glass, with millions of euros of technology within sight.

In October 2025, the roles were reversed - students from TU Graz came to us. We showed them XTPL, Balluff, WCSS, and our own clean room at the Faculty of Electronics, Wrocław Tech. We toured them around Wrocław, showed them Ostrów Tumski, Wyspa Słodowa, and SkyTower.

In the end, we created an interactive educational website that explains - step by step, from a grain of sand to a finished processor - how silicon really is created, which supports the entire modern world of technology.

This was a project about semiconductors. But also about the fact that students can truly participate in the European dialogue about strategic technologies. About the fact that the exchange between Wrocław and Graz is more than a program - it’s relationships that last for years.

Do you want to know the whole story - the companies we visited, what we learned, the educational page, and photos from both trips?
Project executed by KN Solvro in collaboration with BEST Graz, funded by the Unite! Seed Fund. Patronage by the Vice-Rector for Cooperation with the Environment, Wrocław Tech, Prof. Dr. Hab. Inż. Renata Krzyżyńska.
